How Rich are You?

I used to think that I was very poor, but after visiting this website I had to change my mind. Just try it yourself by entering your annual salary and see where you lie in the global rich list.

Definetely food for thought!

I saw a figure there...

Just to add on your post, I was reading something else and realized that if you have all your senses,
a roof over your head, clothes on your back, a reason to smile, family and friends to help you smile, if you can acknowledge your faith in peace and pray without fear, then you are super rich. We should not take anything for granted.

couldn't agree more, its all relative. I always remember, even when I don't have an appetite, at least I have food and a roof over my head.

@All you rich people, since we have established that you are all among the rich people on earth we need to stop complaining and I agree with Komi too that if we have all those things then we are indeed Super Rich (Including you UNYC! so cheer up:-)) we need to ask ourselves what we can do to help all those billions who are soo poor.

With an annual income of $5,000, you are in the top 15%. Hardly!

It all depends on where you live. $5000 in Kenya is not comparable to $5000 in NYC.

The data would be more meaningful if they used real income instead of nominal income.

I got an eye-opener, of sorts, when I got my Blogworth rating and discovered it was worth $0.00 (not even a penny for my thoughts). As for this test, I walk with 'The LORD' and He doesn't have much use for money, so I don't have a credit card, or a bank account, or an address, or I.D. or anything really other than a shoulderbag, a couple of books and my guitar.
What does that say?

Without a salary for half the year, I was still among the 13% richest people in the world. To Ssembonge, it's true that money doesn't last long in the Western World but I still believe you're so much better off than all the millions of people living of less than 1 dollar per day - they are many; and getting out of that kind of poverty is next to impossible, unless someone shows up at your door with a sustainable development solution. Cheers!

@ssembonge, I think the whole purpose behind this website is to raise conciousness among those of us who are lucky go to be earning something that there are several billions of people out there who don't earn enough to live on. Welcome to my blog.
@Ancient Clown, You at least seem to be content in your ways which I must say is good for you.
@Ishtar, Very well put and welcome to my blog
